Windows 7 ISO with VirtIO drivers

If somebody needs it, i’ve made a ISO image of Windows 7 with SP1 and VirtIO drivers integrated. Some Cloud hosters needs the VirtIO drivers for the storage. You can install Windows 7 on Vultr with this image. Keep in mind this is a german language ISO, but you can install language packs after the installation.

Big Beta news from Apple!

Bildschirmfoto 2014-04-23 um 07.26.31Thats surprising… if you not already read it on the web, Apple opened the Beta Seeds to the public! At least for Mavericks it’s now possible to get the betas a legal way direct from Apple without any Developer restrictions! Never thought i’d live to see this day!

More info here: https://appleseed.apple.com/sp/betaprogram

Side note: Please install the latest OS X security update 2014-002 as soon as possible, some serious bugs are fixed!

HP iMC Software on CentOS 6

Just for everyone who have the same problems with installing that Java software on CentOS6. The database config is really strange… if the Deploy fails for you, just open your desired MySQL Database manager, or do it directly on the cli. Open the user management, or just the table, change the hostfield  from “%” to “localhost” of each iMC added user. In my case this was:

imc_aclm
imc_config
imc_icc
imc_monitor
imc_perf
imc_syslog
imc_vlan
imc_vnm

“iMC deploy” adds all users with “%” but later iMC trys to connect with e.g. imc_config@localhost and gets a Access denied from mysql. Thats the reason why all deploy jobs fails on CentOS 6 and iMC 5.2 :/ If you need the password, which is a randon generated one, from each user you can get it with:

/opt/iMC/deploy/pwdmgr.sh -query 127.0.0.1 config_db <username>

MacBook Pro 11,2 and AirPort Extreme problems… (Update 1)

802-11ac-wi-fi

Folks, a new day a Apple Wifi problem… Did anyone out there also notice the horrible 5GHZ AC connection from the latest MacBook Pro and the latest AirPort Extreme? I have pings between 2ms to 1000ms, paket loss and very very low transfer speeds of under 10Mbit/s. The funny thing is, the Signal/Noise ratio is perfect, the signal is excelent and even the Apple indicates a full speed connection of “1300” Mbit/s….

I noticed, if there is a lot of load on the Wifi the ping answers are way better (Down to 5ms and stable) as with no load and only background noise… the first thing i said to myself, hmm maybe engery saving but there is not option to change anything in this direction. There is no difference between WPA/WPA2/WPA2 Enterprise, always the same behavior. If i change the Wifi channel, the problem is gone for some time, but not for long. If my MBPr goes to sleep and woke up, the same strange thing. So my question, is anybody out there with the same or similar problems?

Edit: Temporary fix is to disable Power Nap! So wifi also sleeps and gets powered up on wake up. This solves my problem, well new OS, new Book, new Airport, i expected something like this :/

Edit 2: The latest AirPort Extreme Firmware update solved almost all issues.

Apple AirKeyNote

apple-ipad-air-635Short life sign from turkey! I got a prepaid SIM from AVEA and so far it’s ok. Not so fast as TurkCell may be but ok for that price and volume. As soon as i’m back home, the new MacBook Pro Retina, and a new iPad Mini are ordered for sure!

What do think about the latest lineup from Apple? MacBook Pro with Haswell and AC WLan was confirmed long time before, but did anyone expect a iPad Air? Whats about you? Already ordered some of the new stuff or still explorng Mavericks (FREE!) final?

Let me know what do you think about and what do you order (or already ordered) from the new stuff Apple let us know yesterday!

Closed for holiday!

As the title already says, i’m out for vacation the next 2 weeks. I’ll try to get a prepaid SIM for turkey but i think the internet there (near Outback) is not stable enough and unaffordable to be online every day. My hotel has only internet in the lobby and on the pool 😉

Happy time and a good Apple Keynote to all of you!

OS X Betas – Moved to a new Tab

Not only Mavericks is near for final release, here at ./Shade.sh i have to move some things in the right direction. From now on all new Beta’s have his own Tab on top of this Page – “OS X Beta”. There you will find all future beta releases.

This is a private and actual not a “Hey look the next OS X beta is released” blog. So my choice is to bring back the private spirit and more Linux and OS X related things (No not Betas 😉 ) to the front pages. I know that your RSS readers not get’s notified if there is a post in the OS X Beta section, if somebody know how to enable it on custom pages, let me know! For now, come back from time to time and see if there is a new beta ready for download or, just to visit my Blog 🙂

Golden Mavericks Times…

mavericksIt’s time folks, it’s time… here at ./Shade.sh we’re celebrating today golden times. The Golden Times of Mavericks! This time a Torrent has been created, because i have not enough resources to cover the bandwidth. If the download via HTTP mirror is to slow for you and you can do torrent, download it via torrent, it’s well seeded at the moment.

Have fun and let me know how good and how bad it runs!

Arch Linux – Linux-Mainline (Mirror)

arch-linux-logoHey folks, i have mirrored the (sometimes) very slow download host of “arch.miffe.org” which has the linux-mainline kernel package for Arch Linux for both architectures (i686 and x86_64).

So if anybody out there needs the mainline kernel and also had problems with the arch.miffe.org host, you can also use this server string:

http://mirror1.shade.sh/arch.miffe.org/$arch

in your pacman.conf (or Mirrorlist or wherever you have it on your arch setup). The updates are running every day.

Only minor updates…

mavericksHere we are again, only some minor updates for you today.

Happy testing!
