Apple did it right… if i see my traffic stats ;)

Cat5_CablesWell, this is suprising, even for me. I already ordered some more bandwidth and traffic for this new Cat, errr Sea Lion, errrrr Mavericks few days ago but this is absolutly crazy!

You generated more traffic since beginning of the year in only now 14 hours. Currently we held around 800 stable connections open and had a total summary of more then 8TB traffic. The Main Mirror is still on 100% port limit since release of the download here.

Guy’s you are really crazy… Some of you may now say, ehh i saw this coming – Well i don’t. I expected much more traffic and bandwidth need but not this much, no this was suprising. Anyway, i hope you enjoy the ride and be able to get much more fun out of all the betas from Apple! There are more to come, more Developer Previews and much more fun! Let me know how is goes with the new Sea Lion, sorry i mean Mavericks OS X 😉

mavericksI can see betas everyhwere! As a special gift for you guys i prepared a third special download mirror which is not part of the default mirror – Please choose the different mirrors directly from below! The total network capacity available is not disclosed but its much more then at the last OS X Developer Preview 😉

Enough tech talk, here are the long awaited OS X 10.9 Mavericks Preview! I decided to not provide the iOS 7 Betas because nobody can use it without a proper developer account.

mountainAs every week James? Yes, a new release of the 10.8.4 Beta Build is out of the headquarter of Cupertino and ready for test. I hope the 10.9 is released soon, then we have a lot more things to test 😉

mountainSo, next 10.8.4 release, maybe the last release before Apple shows us the 10.9 preview. I’m still on 10.8.3 because had some problems with 10.8.4 – Let me know whats good and whats bad with that release!

mountainMany of you already tweeted and mailed me, that the next beta candidate is out of the Apple headquarter of Cupertino. I’m courious what changed since the first beta last week, because the Delta update seems very smal with not even 300 Megabyte. As always, you will tell me what good and what bad is included in that update for sure. Thats the first time both download servers can used for a first time release here, hope this time the speed is a little bit better!

Short Bandwidth notice

Cat5_CablesSo, some of you already complaining about slow speeds and stalled downloads from here. Well, i saw this coming, more and more people download this stuff and it was only a matter of time i need more bandwidth.

For now i added one more (IPv4 and IPV6) server to the mirror.shade.sh DNS and it should rotate in round robin concept. If the bandwidth need still grows that much, i have to get some nice GBit lines here… uh and can everybody see the nice and shiny Bitcoin Donate button on the right? 😉

Keep in mind that this are all “only” betas, what happen if the next cat (10.9) is released… it scares me and my servers right now! :p
